Frontend Engineer
About the Role
We're looking for a Frontend Engineer to build the interfaces that make our autonomous AI systems observable, controllable, and trustworthy. You'll own the dashboards and real-time UIs that give engineers visibility into multi-stage development pipelines — from ticket ingestion through code review to deployment.
This is not a typical frontend role. You'll be rendering complex, fast-moving data: pipeline execution graphs, model evaluation metrics, chain-of-custody audit trails, and live agent activity streams. The work demands deep expertise in performance-sensitive rendering, state management at scale, and building interfaces that make complex systems feel simple.
You'll work directly with our infrastructure and AI teams to define how engineers interact with Syntrek's platform. Your work will shape how humans oversee and collaborate with autonomous development agents.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain real-time dashboards for monitoring autonomous AI development pipelines
- Design and implement interactive UIs for pipeline configuration, agent oversight, and evaluation review
- Develop performant data visualization components for execution graphs, cost tracking, and audit logs
- Own the frontend architecture — component library, state management patterns, and build pipeline
- Collaborate with backend engineers to define API contracts and real-time data streaming interfaces
- Implement comprehensive accessibility standards across all user-facing surfaces
- Drive frontend performance optimization for data-heavy views with thousands of concurrent updates
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional frontend engineering experience
- Deep expertise in React and TypeScript — you write idiomatic, type-safe code without thinking about it
- Experience building real-time or data-intensive UIs (dashboards, monitoring tools, analytics platforms)
- Strong understanding of browser performance: rendering pipelines, virtualization, efficient re-renders
- Proficiency with modern state management (Zustand, Jotai, or similar) and data fetching patterns
- Experience with WebSocket or SSE-based real-time data streaming
- Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG 2.1), and cross-browser compatibility
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Next.js or Astro in production environments
- Familiarity with D3.js, Recharts, or similar visualization libraries
- Background in developer tools, observability platforms, or CI/CD interfaces
- Experience working with AI/ML teams or building interfaces for AI systems
- Contributions to open-source frontend projects
